Final Reflection

This class has taught me many useful skills. I have discussed many of these skills in my NETS reflection. I was able to take some of the things I have learned in the class and transfer them to other classes in order to be successful in those particular classes. Inspiration software is an amazing tool that saves a tremendous amount of time. Before this class I was creating concept maps using a word document and it took a long time to design. The website was another interesting tool I learned how to use. This will benefit me as I teach because it will help me communicate effectively with parents and teachers.
The best project in this class was the photostory. I would have to say that this project was my strongest point. I was able to take pictures from my spring break vacation and create a lesson from the gorgeous pictures of the beach, sand, animals, shells and waves. When I was creating this story I learned so many things about certain shells and the waves. I was able to express my creativity in a professional setting and I am able to take this creation to my classroom in the future.
The project that showed my weakest point was the turnitin assignment. This project was difficult for me because I could not wrap my mind around it. I do not like writing on topics that I do not find interest in and it is actually hard for me to find a topic that I am not interested in. I did not care about the gender differences in technology so my assignment suffered.
There are several things that I need to learn for the sake of my future classroom. I am not as familiar with technology as I need to be so I must make sure that I am constantly going to workshop to advance my skills. This course introduced me to several strands of technology that I was unaware existed nor did I know how to use or implement it into classroom. Although I have learned a lot there is still much more to learn.
Integrating technology into the classroom is extremely important in this technology age. It is important for all ages to learn how to use technology effectively. Teachers can have students do a photostory on any subject. An example would be a photostory about their family. The teacher can also use the web tools to create rubrics, quizzes, activity sheets, etc. I find myself growing more and more with this technology age. I am finding out new ways to do things and how it can be implemented in the classroom. Technology is currently in classroom such as white boards, PowerPoint presentations, and computers to take AR test. Technology is everywhere we just need to know how to use it.
