2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S. Teachers:
a. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
b. develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress.
c. customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources.
d. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching.
Reflection:
I have learned so much in this class as far as how to use technology to facilitate experiences that increase student learning. The teacher made tools apply to this standard because they are tools made using the internet to develop and evaluate learning experiences. I was completely flabbergasted when I found out that you can develop rubrics, word puzzles, word finds, hidden messages, double puzzles, mazes, cryptograms, letter tiles, and fallen phrases on the internet. These things are so easy to make. We made a multiple choice quiz and we were able to include true false answers. This was so interesting and I definitely plan on taking this to my future classroom with me.
Artifacts:
Web tools:
rubric, online quiz, worksheet, and puzzle
Future learning goals:
My future goals are to deepen my skills with technology by creating more authentic tools for assessing students work. I plan on going back to these websites and creating quizzes for my class because these sites allow me to put the exact information I want the students to learn. What makes these sites so incredible is the teacher does not have to worry about correctly setting up the format or struggling with word to make sure everything lines up correctly and is visually appealing.

I also thought it was really neat that we could create so many teacher tools on the internet. I had no clue that it was so easy and free to create this stuff.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed creating the puzzle and quiz. Those sites will be very useful in a couple of years!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I like your word usage. I was also flabbergasted when I learned that all of those activities were so easily accessible. It helped me a lot!
